Quadriptych

I’ve painted on and rubbed away so many times that the colour surface in places has taken on a glowing bronze-like quality

Here I've complimented the vigorously painted red (major colour) with similar brush marks of the quieter green/grey (minor colour)

The artist is presumably one of those illustrators or caricaturists who made a good living filling magazines and club walls with portraits of the stars of the day

This particular work is somewhere between a “salt” and a candle stick in design with a hint of vintage circus act
