Antique Brass Paul Kruger “Transvaal Money Box” – Made in England Boer War Era Cast Metal Novelty Coin Bank c.1900 tie pin dovetailed construction measures 20x15cmA rare antique cast brass Transvaal Money Box, made in England circa 1900, modelled as a caricature of President Paul Kruger of the South African Republic. The figure wears a top hat engraved TRAN. VAAL MONEY BOX and a buttoned frock coat. Coins slot through the hat, and the base unscrews to release savings. Produced as a Boer War satirical novelty, these coin banks reflected British political humour of the era and were sold as patriotic souvenirs.
