The head, hands and feet are carved and painted wood, finished with a glossy varnish that now shows attractive age crazing. The soft body is cloth, stuffed with straw, so it has the authentic light feel these earlier dolls are known for. Dressed in a patterned burgundy jacket with pale green cap hood trimmed in red braid.
