With the singles Love Don't Hate It and Someone Else Duncan definitively confirmed his status as artist singer dongwriter. On Small Town Boy he worked with songwriters and producers Brett McLaughlin (Troye Sivan, Selena Gomez) and Bram Inscore (Icona Pop, Mayer Hawthorne), and he also also produced a large part of the album himself.
