The heavy, roped and coiled textile basket features rich tones of burgundy, olive, and tawny. A stone hang closes the hinged lid of the basket. Crafted by Ruth Lescohier in 1981 after her years of research on the Native American tribes of "Nova Albion" (northern coastal California). The traditional baskets of the Coast
