It leafs out in the early spring with that cherry red display that will steal the show in your garden. At this point 'Beni maiko' is one of the brightest cherry reds of any Japanese maple. By early summer, the cherry red has faded to a green red. In the autumn, 'Beni maiko' turns to a bright fire
