Sundown (Vinyle) Brian Level featured an "isolated" soft popIn 2021, Eddie Chacon and John Carroll Kirby spent two weeks in Ibiza, writing the first half of Sundown with a rented Fender Rhodes in a hillside home overlooking Siesta Beach. Influenced by Pharoah Sanders Greeting to Saud, they prioritized simplicity over virtuosity. The album was completed at 64 Sound Studios in Los Angeles with contributions from Logan Hone (flutes, sax), Elizabeth Lea (trombone), Will Logan (drums), and David Leach (percussion).
